The bleachers were filled. The gymnasium was congested. It truly was the perfect basketball atmosphere as the hosting Cooper Yeshiva Macs competed against the Houston Heat. Sophomore Eli Osdoba and the Cooper Macs initially struggled to put points on the board, while towering sophomore Zach Yoshor and the RMBA Heat fought aggressively and powerfully, taking a 13 point lead by the end of the first quarter. The Cooper Macs entered the next section of the game with a fresh mentality: steal the ball, steal the ball and steal the ball. They must have taken the ball from the Heat 14 times in the second quarter alone! The Macs tied up the game, but couldn’t hold on, and the first half finished 20 to 13 Houston heating it up. The Macs simply could not pull any closer in the third quarter as 6”3 forward Yoshor used his height advantage to the best of his capabilities. As time wound down, the Macs could not seem to get their shots to fall, and the Heats’ aggressiveness remained. The Heat fended off the Macs, winning 39 to 25.
