In the third game of day, the #14 seeded Weinbaum Storm took on the #3 seeded YULA Panthers. The Storm started off the game strong with a Bryant Feintuch layup and a Cobi Citron three to go ahead 5-1. After an Ariel Sokol free throw for YULA, Weinbaum extended their lead to 6 with another Citron three. However, Adam Liber came back with a three of his own to put YULA within three. YULA continued to score going on an 8-0 run to go up by five with four minutes left in the first quarter. After a Weinbaum timeout, YULA went on a 8-1 run led by Moshe Willner’s three point play. With 15 seconds left in the first quarter,Bryant Feintuch scored to end YULA’s run. At the end of the first, YULA led 21-11 behind Adam Liber’s 5 points.

Doni Baratz made two free throws to start the second quarter and cut YULA’s lead to eight. Ariel Sokol countered with two free throws of his own to put YULA on the board in the second quarter. Moshe Willner capitalized on a three point play with 4:51 left in the first half to put YULA up 11. YULA continued to score, going on a 9-0 run led by Menachem Solomon’s five points. With less than a minute left in the half, both teams hit free throws to make the score 36-16 at halftime.

YULA scored first in the second half when Ariel Sokol hit a layup down low. After some made free throws and a JoJo Himmelman layup,YULA took a 27 point lead. Weinbaum finally scored in the second half when Bryant Feintuch hit a floater. Then Daniel Lasko hit a wide open layup to cut YULA’s lead to 25. YULA countered with a 6-0 run, powered by its dominance in the paint and at the free throw line. With 1 second left in the third, Natan Golfiz hit a three to put YULA up 55-22.

Adam Liber opened the fourth with a nice 6 foot jumper for YULA, but Weinbaum hit a free throw on the other end. With four minutes left in the game, Moshe Willner hit a free throw to put YULA up by 35. However, Ari Clements of the Storm hit a three to cut it to 32. Weinbaum hit another jumper and after a Daniel Lasko layup brought the score to 58-30. Both teams scored two more times, but YULA pulled away, ending the game on a 5-0 run. The final score was 67-34 YULA. The Panthers’ high scorer was JoJo Himmelman with 15 points and Daniel Lasko led Weinbaum with 10 points.
