Yanni Hufnagel is the assistant head men’s basketball coach of SEC powerhouse, Vanderbilt University. Hufnagel joined the Vanderbilt staff in May of 2013 after spending four seasons as assistant head basketball coach at Harvard University.

At Harvard, Hufnagel served as the recruiting coordinator and was responsible for perimeter player development, having worked with Jeremy Lin among others, and was also directly involved in opponent scouting. He helped lead the Crimson to four 20-win seasons, the Ivy League title in each of the last three years, and NCAA Tournament appearances in both 2011-12 and 2012-13.

Before joining the Harvard staff, Hufnagel was a graduate assistant for the basketball program at the University of Oklahoma In his two years at Oklahoma, the Sooners won 53 games, and advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament in 2008-09. With the Sooners, Hufnagel assisted in the development of Blake Griffin, the eventual first overall selection in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. In the summer of 2013, Hufnagel led the USA 18U Maccabi team to the gold medal in Israel.
