10-29-2010 | Jaguars rip Wolverines advance to Tier 2 Semis

The 13 seed Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School Jaguars came to play after their loss to Miami against the 16 seed Westchester Wolverines who fought their hearts out in a futile effort to beat the MTA Lions. Both teams, in dire need of a win, played very hard, but as it works with all sports, one team had to come out on top. In this case, MAYHS were the team that got the big break, and won by a long shot.

In MAYHS’ 56-34 victory over Westchester, there were some very notable statistics that should be known. First, a job well done should go out to Johnny Kluger for his 20 point game. Second, Josh Deneberg sunk an astonishing 4 three pointers in the game. The leading scorer for the Westchester Wolverines was Matt Werner with 11 points. Now, MAYHS looks to win their next two games to finish 9th in the tournament while the Westchester Wolverines will take on our Cooper Macs Saturday night in an attempt to finish at best in 13th place.
