The Magen David Warriors, the overall number one seed, took on the sixteen seed Yeshiva Atlanta Lions. Magen David took the early lead with two Jeff Pardo free throws. They then forced Yeshiva Atlanta into a few turnovers and converted those into two baskets. An inbounds play which resulted in a wide open three point attempt for the Warriors resulted in a huge block by Yeshiva Atlanta. The Warriors stole the ball again, but could not convert a layup, and another Yeshiva Atlanta basket kept the game surprisingly close at 6-4 Magen David. Magen David then made a free throw and stole the inbound pass to expand their lead to 5 points. Magen David then scored two quick baskets, but Atlanta beat Magen David’s press two times and got two wide open layups. Magen David then forced three more turnovers and kept scoring to expand their lead to eight. After a missed basket and a steal, Atlanta scored five points to keep the game close. Magen David scored four straight and made the score 21-14 at the end of the first quarter.

At the beginning of the second quarter, both teams exchanged baskets, and then Morris Dweck of Magen David hit a three from the corner. Magen David continued to score, led by baskets from Jeff Pardo and Adin Adjmi. The Lions had an impressive offensive showing though, and scored six points over the course of five minutes. Magen David’s offense continued to score powered by steals, offensive rebounding, and good shooting. Going into halftime the score was 42-22.

Yeshiva Atlanta started the second half on a high note, hitting two straight threes to make it a 42-28 game. Magen David stole the ball and Mark Sayegh scored starting a 8-0 run. The Lions beat the press again and made an easy layup. Morris Dweck hit two free throws and Adin Adjmi made a layup to make it 54-32 game. Atlanta made a basket, then Matthew Cohen hit a jumper and Morris Dweck hit another three to expand Magen David’s lead to 25. At the end of the third the score was 59-34 the Warriors on top.

Ben Brasch scored and Myles Ratner scored twice for Yeshiva Atlanta to open the quarter cutting Magen David’s lead to 19 points. Magen David finally scored their first basket of the fourth four minutes into the quarter. Magen David then scored another four points to make it 65-42 game. Yeshiva Atlanta didn’t let up and scored another basket, but the Warriors kept forcing turnovers and they kept taking advantage of them and scoring. Josh Weismann scored the final basket for Yehshiva Atlanta and the final score was 67-46 in favor of Magen David. The high scorer for Magen David was Morris Dweck with 15 points, for Atlanta it was Josh Weismann with 14.
