Joining Coach Josh Pastner of the University of Memphis Tigers, Chris Wallace, General Manager and Vice President of Basketball Operations for the Memphis Grizzlies, will participate in the 2010 Cooper Yeshiva High School National Invitational Tournament. Wallace has been with the Grizzlies since 2007 with the primary responsibilities of coordinating free agent signings, trades and draft preparation. Before assuming the General Manager position with the Grizzlies, Wallace was the General Manager of the Boston Celtics for 10 seasons.

Though not himself Jewish, Wallace is a lifelong and avid supporter of the State of Israel where he visits often and leads missions for NBA players from across the league. Just this past week, Chris, accompanied by Allan Houston, Dwight Howard, and Omri Caspi, met in Israel with President Shimon Peres where Chris presented Mr. Peres with a personalized NBA Grizzlies jersey.

Wallace was heavily involved in the 18th Macabbi games held in Tel Aviv in 2009. Chris’s story of how he forged his lifelong connection with the State of Israel and its people is both extraordinarily entertaining and incredibly moving. A can’t miss experience!
