Wildcats Outrun the Pack! DRS Roars Past Valley Club 59–45 to Advance in Tier I!
- Updated: October 31, 2025
In a hard-fought Tier I showdown, the #3-seeded DRS Wildcats showcased their trademark poise and depth, pulling away late to defeat the #6-seeded Valley Basketball Club Wolfpack 59–45. It was a game of intensity, grit, and big-time plays, but DRS’s offensive balance and second-half surge proved too much for the Wolfpack to contain.
Leading the Wildcats was Gabey Spodek, who delivered a commanding 16-point performance, setting the tone with his aggressiveness and efficiency. Y. Bennett and S. Gabay matched his energy, each scoring 14 points, as DRS’s offense hummed with precision. M. Solomon also chipped in 10, helping the Wildcats maintain their rhythm and composure even when the Wolfpack made their runs.
For Valley Club, M. Dan led the charge with 16 points, continuing his stellar tournament play, while D. Raham added 15 and J. Victor contributed 10. Despite their efforts, the Wolfpack struggled to find consistent scoring beyond their trio, and foul trouble in the second half limited their ability to mount a comeback.
The game began as a tight, back-and-forth battle — both teams trading buckets in a physical first half. But as the second half wore on, DRS turned up the pressure defensively and started converting stops into points. Spodek and Bennett hit key shots down the stretch, and the Wildcats’ ball movement and discipline allowed them to control the tempo and close the door on the Wolfpack’s hopes of an upset.
When the final buzzer sounded, DRS walked off with a 59–45 win, advancing deeper into Tier I with confidence and momentum. The Wildcats’ balanced attack and defensive grit once again proved why they’re one of the tournament’s top seeds — and as the competition heats up, it’s clear this pack of Wildcats is hunting for a championship.
