Storm Surges Past Heat in Tier III Championship Showdown, 69–59
- Updated: November 2, 2025
In a fiery Tier III Championship that lived up to the name, the Katz Yeshiva Storm outlasted the Montreal Heat 69–59 in a game defined by electric offense, superstar performances, and nonstop intensity.
The contest was a showcase of two elite scorers putting their teams on their backs. Nir Okaknin was sensational for Katz, erupting for 35 points in a performance that cemented his tournament legacy. Whether driving to the basket, pulling up from midrange, or hitting deep shots under pressure, Okaknin delivered time and again — a one-man highlight reel who refused to let the Storm lose.
His teammates kept the rhythm flowing, with Jordan Kogan (9 points) and Abie Kaweblum (8 points) knocking down key buckets, while Ethan Stern (7 points) and Ilan Attias (5 points) added valuable scoring depth. Katz’s poise and ball movement down the stretch were the difference as they held off multiple Montreal rallies.
For the Heat, Simon Alloul was every bit the star, matching Okaknin blow for blow with a phenomenal 33-point outing. His silky shooting and fearless drives gave Montreal a fighting chance deep into the fourth quarter. Benjamin Laredo (10 points) and Daniel Levy (9 points) added timely scoring, but the Heat couldn’t overcome the Storm’s late-game composure.
When the final buzzer sounded, Katz’s bench stormed the court — fittingly — as they sealed the Tier III crown with confidence and class.
