11-8-2015 | Fasman Yeshiva Clamps Down on CJHS Tigers, 52-44

The last game Sunday morning on Court 1 featured the #5 Fasman Yeshiva High School against the #6 Chicagoland Jewish High School Tigers. The game started off with both teams pushing the ball and playing good defense. Fasman kept a slight lead throughout the quarter, but Chicagoland finished strong up 11-8.

In the 2nd quarter, the Tigers maintained their lead with the help of Eli Nasatir, but Fasman would not quit and continued to be down by just a small margin. Fasman then started heating up, and with a few and one plays, tied the game up with a minute to go until halftime. After getting defensive stops as well as getting to the line, Fasman was able to finish up 24-22 at halftime.The leading scorers were Arik Tieke for Fasman with 6 points and Eli Nasatir led for the CJHS Tigers with 9 points.

In the 3rd quarter, Fasman took control. They played great defense, and scored off of fast break layups and free throws. Chicagoland struggled to score on offense and couldn’t stop Fasman on defense. Arik Tieke, Zev Lafer, and Michael Younes each contributed greatly for Fasman offensively. Even with Nasatir in double digits for Chiagoland, Fasman kept their big lead on the Tigers.

As the 4th quarter began, Chicagoland had some nice scoring plays, but it wasn’t enough to catch up to Fasman. Although both Felix Rosen and Nasatir were both in double digits for Chicagoland, Fasman’s Michael Younes and Zev Lafer kept Fasman in control as Fasman went on to win 52-44. The leading scorer for Fasman was Michael Younes with 15 points. Chicagoland was paced by Felix Rosen with 12 points.
