The #3 New Jewish Community High School Jaguars defeated the hometown #14 Cooper Macs in a game that was better than expected. The Jaguars, returning for their fourth time in the Cooper Invitational, have never been seeded so high and they showed that they plan on meeting expectations. Edan Evenhaim led all scorers with 20 points while J.J. Kampf led Cooper with 18.

The game seemed to get away from Cooper early on as turnovers led to a quick lead by New Jew. The first quarter ended with the Jaguars leading 15–5. Cooper continued to struggle with turnovers in the second quarter and they also had a hard time containing Evenhaim as well as 6’ 4” Daniel Ozer Ross.

In the 3rd quarter, the Jaguars continued to move and share the ball as well as pound the glass, winning the rebound battle. They had many second chance points and put backs off of missed shots. Cooper did not allow the Jaguars to blow them out as J.J. Kampf and David Silbermann knocked down some shots and Cooper began to play better defense. At the end of three quarters, the Jaguars led 45-23.

In the fourth quarter, the Jaguars rested Evenhaim, Ozer Ross and the Emanuel brothers at which point Cooper began to cut into the Jaguars lead. In the end, as expected, the Jaguars pulled past Cooper and won the game 57-44. The Jaguars moves on into Round 1 in Tier 1 while the Macs move on to Tier 2. Edan Evanhaim led the Jaguars with 20 points, while the Cooper Macs were led by JJ Kampf with 18 points.
