The game between the MTA LIONS and the HILLEL HURRICANES started out a little shaky with both teams turning the ball over. The HURRICANES shutdown the LIONS top scorer Yisroel Feld in the first quarter, with a grueling double team, and Feld’s frustration showed as he picked up a technical foul. MTA seemed to get their groove back going on a 17 – 6 run and held the lead at the half, 22 to 18.

Both teams came out fired up to start the 3rd quarter, and both were hot from the outside with #23 Joseph Ammar of Hillel, hitting from downtown and #33 Eli Davis doing the same for MTA. Once again Hillel made things difficult for #3 Feld, of MTA, with their swarming double team. The third Quarter ended with MTA leading 36 – 26.

The fourth quarter started with MTA going on an 8 to 4 run, and MTA looked ready to coast to another win. The HURRICANES wouldn’t go quietly though. With MTA’s Feld on the bench after fouling out, The HURRICANES surged back to within 1 point with 0:13 left in the game. It was an unbelievable finish with #22 Kevin Salinas missing an in-and-out three point shot at the buzzer. MTA LIONS defeat the HILLEL HURRICANES, 61 – 59.
