Coach Dave Winik’s YULA Panthers came prepared to their first game in the Cooper Invitational against Block Yeshiva. The Panthers raced out to a 38-0 lead by the end of the first quarter, and then left Block Yeshiva in the dust. The final score of this one was 108-24.

YULA showed the depth of their team by having all of their players contribute offensively in the beatdown of Block Yeshiva. Leading the way for Block Yeshiva was Josh Goldmeier, who scored more than half Block’s points with 13. The game had its fair share of fouls, with both teams having a combined 35 fouls. Pacing the YULA attack was Matt Reich who scored 17 points.

YULA sent a powerful message to the rest of the teams in the tournament they will be a force to be reckoned with. YULA advances to the winner of the #7 AHA Eagles/ #10 Rambam Red Storm game, while Block Yeshiva moves on into Tier 2 and will be licking their wounds tonight.
