After being upset by the Cooper Macs last year in the first round, the Northshore Stars came this year having a chip on their shoulder. It certainly showed in the first quarter with the team jumping out to a 19-9 lead fueled by Jeremy Forman who had 11 points. By the middle of the 2nd quarter, the Stars had stretched their lead out to 19 and were in control of the game.

There was one tense moment when Zachary Shporer from Houston was fouled hard by Northshore, but a big block by Yonatan Tubul sparked a run by the Heat to close the deficit down to 11 at halftime.

The third quarter had a strange start with the Heat scoring a basket in the wrong goal. With a foul fest taking over much of the third quarter, scoring became limited to fast breaks. At the end of the game, Northshore was able to cool down the Heat and streaked to a 70-48 victory.

The Stars move on the second round and will play the winner of the #3 Flatbush Falcons/ #14 Atlanta Lions game, while the Heat look to put the pieces back together again when they continue on in Tier 2.
