Posnack RAMS take 3rd place; defeats de Toledo JAGUARS 54-37!
- Updated: November 4, 2018

The De Toledo Jaguars battled the Posnack Rams for the third place title in the Tier I championship. Evenheim scored the first points of the game for De Toledo. Shany was the first to score for the Rams with a layup. Esulin dropped a 3 pointer for the Jaguars, as the Jaguars jumped out to an early lead, 10-4.
The Rams came storming back in the 2nd quarter as Brandwein sunk a jump shot and then a layup for Posnack closing in on the Jaguars’ lead. Bonkovski, quiet until now, scored his first points of the game for the Rams. And then, Jags start Evenheim fell on the court and limped to the Jaguars bench. The Rams capitalized and Djamal stole the Jaguars ball and raced down the court for a layup. The half ended with Rams comfortably in the lead, the score 24-18.
At the start of the half, Kushner scored a jump shot and then Bonkovski scored a 3 pointer to send the Rams’ lead soaring. Posnack’s offense ran circles around the Jaguars defense who could not keep up with with the Rams smart passing and quick fakes. Shany sunk a 3 pointer for the Rams and the Jaguars had yet to score in this quarter. Altschul finally scored a layup for the Jaguars and sunk the foul shot as well. Morad tipped the ball in from his own rebound on the halftime buzzer putting the Rams up by a nearly insurmountable 20 point lead, 44-24.
Esulin scored a 3 pointer for the Jaguars just seconds into the fourth quarter. Tahor came back and scored his first points of the game with a layup for the Rams. Waldman fought to get by the Rams’ tight defense and scored a jumpshot for the Jaguars. The Rams ran the clock down essentially playing keep-a-way, running circles around the Jaguars defense until the buzzer sounded, the final score 54-37. The leading scorers for Posnack and De Toledo were Brandwein with 14 points and Evenheim and Esulin tied for 11. The Rams ended their tournament run with a new found respect from the entire Yeshiva Basketball World showing that they were a force to be reckoned with for years to come.
