Northshore STARS outshine Rochele Zell TIGERS 54-44!
- Updated: October 31, 2019
In a premier first round matchup, the #8 North Shore Hebrew Academy Stars faced off against their “out of town” competitors the #9 Rochelle Zell Jewish High School Tigers. North Shore started off strong grabbing a small early lead, but the Tigers kept the game very close trailing only 10-8 at the end of the 1st.
In the 2nd quarter both teams kept it tight, with North Shore keeping a 2 point lead for the majority of the quarter as each time struggled to get ahead. Finally The Stars pulled ahead with a 6 point lead to end the quarter up 24-18.
In the third quarter, NSHA got their lead up to 8 points, but it got cut down to just a 3 point game following an intense final 2 minutes of the third quarter with North Shore just barely eeking out a lead 34-31.
Coming into the 4th quarter both teams were put to the test in a battle to see who wanted it more. At the start of the fourth quarter, The Tigers were on fire, finally taking their first lead of the game going up 35-34. Both Teams continued to battle it out as the final minutes closed in, each trying to take the lead. Finally North Shore took a dominating two possession lead, pulling ahead 48-43 with 2 minutes left in the game. At that point, the Tigers lost morale and began getting desperate to catch up launching shots from behind the arc, resulting in North Shore running away with a 10 point lead 54-44 to end an intensely close game. Stars move on to Tier 1, Tigers to Tier 2.
