In the last of the two Tier 2 matchups of the might, the #4 seed Fasman Yeshiva faced off against the #8 seed Kadimah Chargers. Fasman started off strong, with Yedidyah Rosenwasser scoring the first 5 points of the game. The Chargers struggled on both ends of the floor, letting Fasman take control of the game. Yonah Shafner was the only player who scored for the Chargers in the quarter, and they trailed Fasman 16-5 going into the second quarter.

In the second quarter, Fasman didn’t let the Chargers do anything with their tight defense, and they started to rack up the points. Jacob Wedgle led Fasman, picking off passes and driving right to the lane wit ease. Bentzi Azose also got to the hoop and hit layup after layup adding to Fasman’s lead. The Chargers were used to getting blown out, so it was no surprise to them that they were down 34 at the half after Shua Kalish drained a three at the buzzer from Fasman.

In the third quarter, Fasman did not let up. They kept playing hard despite their massive lead, letting everyone get into the action in this one. They enjoyed themselves for the remainder of the quarter, leading 54-15 when the third quarter came to a close.

In the fourth quarter, Yonah Shafner came out determined to not let his team get embarrassed, and knocked down two threes in a row. Unfortunately for the Chargers, it was far too late for a comeback. Fasman let the clock run out and take the win, 65-24. Azose and Wedgle led Fasman with 13 points each, and Shafner led his team with 22 points. Fasman Yeshiva will play in the Tier 2 5th place game on Sunday morning, while the Kadimah Chargers will try to avoid the Cooper Invitational basement on Sunday morning when they go up against the Atlanta Jewish Academy Jaguars.
