Upset Alert!

Following the tip off, RZJHS and YULA traded shots through most of the first half. Vayngart did a great job setting up his RZJHS teammates, while Alan Gindi found success early on getting to the line. By the end of the first half, YULA found themselves in the lead 30-22. Gindi finished the half with 13 points, and Teichman let CZJHS with 10.

Coming out of half time, YULA was continued their strong play for the majority of the third quarter.  Towards the end of the quarter, RZJHS pulled out a run of their own and managed to pull within 3, 39-36. The excitement began in the fourth quarter, when the Tigers connected on a few three pointers.  With their outside shooting, the Tigers regained the lead for the first time since Q1 with just over 2 minutes remaining in regulation. After trailing RZJHS by 4, YULA went on a 5-0 run with a minute remaining.  With 30 seconds remaining the Tigers’ Nasatir hit a huge 3 to put RZJHS up by 2, and take the lead for good.

Notable stat lines include RZJHS’ Felix Rosen with 11 points and 10 rebounds.  YULA’s Gindi finished with 18 points and 8 rebounds.
